TVU Player

Posted on April 17th, 2008

Tired of waiting for fansubs? Or for those who can read/understand Japanese, tired of waiting for RAWS? Well, now you don’t have to wait. With TVU Player, you can stream Japanese Channels to your computer and watch the same stuffs Japanese are watching at the same time! Me kid you not!

Here’s all you need to do: Get TVU Player.

Right-click view image enabled for every image in this post.

Firstly, go to TVU Player’s site to download their latest release of TVU Player. From there, install as per normal.

1) After double-clicking, select prefer language.

2) Ok, and next your way thru…..

3) Within a second, your installation will be complete.

4) Your player will look something like this:

Well, you may take your time and look at all the channels available on the left, but we shall skip thru that. Next, we shall only find Japanese channels (where all your animes are at) and say sayonara to all the other channels for now. To do so, go to the “Language”drop down bar on the right:

Once selected, you will notice the channels on the left are left with:

Yes. These are the only Japanese channels TVU provides us with. T_T But if you will take your time and Google everyone of them (excluding the ones with the “windows media player” logo) , you will realise that they have spring animes on them. Well, not all spring animes, but the most important ones that I personally think everyone is watching.

EDIT: Asahi channel does not air any spring animes. Click here to see their list of animes~~

Btw: click on the channels to watch them. Loading will take a min or 2. While loading, they might play irritating commercials for Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon.

Ok. That’s for all the configuration you might need. Feel free to play with it. And as for which animes you can watch from TVU Player within the limited channels, here are the list (In the following format- title, channel, day, time) :

  • RD. NTV. Every Tuesday 24:59

*Note that all time mentioned above are in Japanese time(GMT +9). You will need to change it to your local time on your own. Furthermore, the time that they air the anime is ever changing. You have to go to their homepage and watch out for the time.*

Overall, I personally think that this is a great service for people who wanna watch Japanese programmes but can’t due to ______reasons. Despite the lack in channels, it’s still ok. >.> All I hope for is someone to broadcast AT-X. Most animes are available there.

That’s all folks. Btw: here’s an image of my desktop:

Wallpaper from mukyaa~.com. Lu-k’s photoshoot for Sawatari Makoto’s figure caught my eye (via dannychoo.com news), and the image above was perfect for a wallpaper. To Lu-k: Sorry that I used your photo for my wallpaper. It was nice, I couldn’t resist it!!

P.S: After watching many Japanese programmes for a couple of days, my Nihongo “somehow improved. LOL Yes. It is a good avenue to practice your Nihongo too. So. Go GRAB IT!!
