Eva 1.0: I Did (Not) Watch Alone

Woot. Just came back from the cinema watching “Eva 1.0: You Are (Not) Alone” with my mum. And I’m here to write my thoughts about the movie and some responses that I got from my mum and brother, who watched it with his friends.

First thing first: My thoughts.

Well, for me, Eva 1.0 didn’t work that well. I do not know if it’s the location of where I sat (which is the bottom right sit of the whole cinema), or is it because the whole movie wasn’t that nice. Frankly speaking, the movie was uber long. It was quite the “Ahhhhhh….” for me. I remember watching the shared version of Eva 1.0 1 month ago and despite the low quality, it did turned me on. I turned into half a Rei fanboy, and labelled the whole Eva DVD series into a “must buy” thing in future. Yes, it worked then.

But somehow, it didn’t work today. In point form:

• Long time.
• Lousy time.
• Lousy seats.

Yes, all cinema faults. But then again, I have to thank to God or some invisible force out there that I’m able to watch this movie. Cos when I got there, it was “Sold Out”. I was going, “Mum, let’s go home..T_T” But noo. My mum was persistent. She said,”No, we will go and ask them!!” So we did, and guess what?

Staff,”Oh we have 5 seats left. Do you want them?”

Me,” Ok. Thanks. J xx and xx. Thanks”.

For the normal movie goer, it’s yawns. For the hardcore anime fan, I would say at least go watch it. Support the industry, watch with your friends, and shout “Moe~~” when Rei appears. Sing “Beautiful World” when the movie ends with your friends and make a din in the cinema. But just don’t fap when Shinji’s hand is on Rei’s boob. For the innocent below 16 children, here’s how the scene looked like:

And yes, it was worth the $10 just to see Rei going:

That turned me on~~ No faps though~~ My mum was with me!!^_^

And guess what I did after exiting the cinema. No, not “AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!”like how Shinji pierce the 5th Angel with his knife, but I went “GUUUUN-DAAAAAAAAMUUUUU!!!” like how Setsuna shouted  when he was about to be raped by the Ali guy. Gundam 00 wins Eva 1.0  T_T and XD.

Overall, it was mixed feelings from me. Comments from my brother and mum were as:

Brother: Not as good as the “cartoon” (Anime). (Btw, my brother was quite the anime fan when he was around 14 and 15. But quit after that. He still enjoys some animes like Initial D.)

Mum: (I asked her this before she gave a “:)”. “How was the movie?”)

P.S: Someone, please call Cathay to play the Eva 2.0 trailer. Half the cinema was left speechless when no trailer was played after “Beautiful World” ended. And there I was, telling my mum that there’s some interesting stuffs at the back. T_T

   Gah I couldn’t go watch this. I’ll be able to watch the other 3 when they come out hopefully, as long as the rating doesn’t go any higher than NC16 =P
   Which it shouldn’t.
